Building a functional set of Belém water and sanitation indicators

This session aims to assist in advancing the Baku Adaptation Roadmap (BAR) by providing insights on national planning and implementation of climate-resilient water and sanitation, while connecting global and national/ local levels to ensure global decision-making is informed by lessons learned from adaptation implementation.

The second part of Achieving the Global Goal on Adaptation thematic discussion at the Pavilion will explore how the climate and water communities can work together to turn the water target of the UAE Global Climate Resilience Framework into on-the-ground action. The focus here is on moving from official commitments to tangible results.

The goal of this 2-part session (panel and interactive discussion) is to explore a diversity of ideas and recommendations for how to center water in the GGA from all corners of the water community and develop a shared narrative that effectively represents the whole and can be used to support negotiators throughout the remainder of COP28.
