The event will begin with a scene-setting segment where speakers will present what the adoption of the UAE Framework for Global Climate Resilience means for the ongoing work of water and climate stakeholders respectively. This will be followed by a segment containing short, dynamic case study presentations that highlight successful examples of reducing climate-induced water scarcity, enhancing climate resilience to water-related hazards, protecting and restoring freshwater ecosystems, implementing nature-based solutions for water security, and working towards a climate-resilient water supply, and climate-resilient sanitation services.
Following the presentations, the session will transition into a hands-on “Action Lab” where participants work together to co-create actionable strategies, focusing on identifying what is needed to move forward.
The session will conclude by highlighting the proposals identified in the action lab and summarizing key takeaways from the discussions during the day.

Action lab: identifying what’s needed to move forward
The action lab will in more detail examine the example of climate-resilient water management and how its different elements contribute to the GGA targets for water and sanitation and water ecosystems.
The discussion will be approached from two different angles. One discussion will focus on how the GGA catalyzes action for water actors while the other will focus on what is needed to successfully implement the water targets. The discussions will take place in parallel, with reporting afterwards.
Conclusion and close of day
The concluding segment will highlight the takeaways of the action lab. It will also summarize the day overall and emphasize what different stakeholders can do to ensure ambitious action on the GGA at the global policy level as well as at the level of implementation. It will highlight what action is needed towards COP30 by different stakeholders (including Water Pavilion partners).
