Overcoming obstacles and watering the plans

Bridging the gap between the water community and the net zero governance and policy agenda including: an overview of key milestones, trends and developments in net zero governance, understanding of the Net Zero Recognition and Accountability Framework, and exploring the role of international standards like the ISO Net Zero Guidelines.

Throughout the Dialogue, ‘Water & Food Systems Thinking’ will provide the framework for discussing the complexity of the water and food system, in a way that addresses the importance of considering the needs and well-being of our future generations and involving young people in possible interventions and strategic long-term decision making, impacting their lives most of all.

The Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action (MPGCA) is the non-party stakeholder mechanism under the UNFCCC. This event will showcase recent signals of progress in water for climate across the globe. It will demonstrate tangible water solutions across some of the impact areas of the Water Action Pathway to inspire more ambitious water action.

The Ocean Pavilion and the Water for Climate Pavilion are organizing this cross-pavilion session where the ocean and freshwater communities will come together to discuss and identify opportunities to collaborate across science, policy and practice for healthy ecosystems and decisive climate action.
