Achieving the Global Goal on Adaptation: Closing Session

The second part of Achieving the Global Goal on Adaptation thematic discussion at the Pavilion will explore how the climate and water communities can work together to turn the water target of the UAE Global Climate Resilience Framework into on-the-ground action. The focus here is on moving from official commitments to tangible results.

The goal of this 2-part session (panel and interactive discussion) is to explore a diversity of ideas and recommendations for how to center water in the GGA from all corners of the water community and develop a shared narrative that effectively represents the whole and can be used to support negotiators throughout the remainder of COP28.

The second part of the session will look more deeply at the GGA process itself, starting with an overview from an expert before moving to a roundtable with involved national policymakers from a diversity of countries to better understand the issues at play domestically when global targets are being proposed.
